Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

How many were laid off yesterday?

We know it was a major round, but can we at least ballpark the number?

@av there is an easy way to identify how many people were laid off. Someone who is the recipient of the layoff email needs to take the headers from that email, which likely includes all of the recipients.
Save it as a text file, run that as input to wc -l on your nearest Unix terminal. Out pops a number!

All speculation.

It was almost 400. They are taking the hit for the rest of us.

Director overhead saying yesterday was the 'first round,' so sounds like we're back to the damn waves.

The number I heard for our org alone was about 100. So the 400 sounds about right.

I had two ADs tell me there were approximately 400 managers on the HR training call. If they all let 2 or 3 apiece go on average, you can extrapolate from there.
