I was 22 years old before I’d ever noticed the ash (I was raised in traditional Christian church, barely aware of Lent, and had little interaction with Catholics) - I remember saying at about 9am: “hey Earl, you got dirt on your forehead.” But was quite embarrassed that I was clueless to the practice.

Bunch of asholes just sitting around on the floor doing nothing since there is no where to sit.
