Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Why are we taking more calls than last year yet there’s 10 minutes between calls.

This isn’t AI!! They’re just outsourcing all the calls. Thanks Dan! I’m really happy you decided to employ some contractor.

So the last time this happened was around 2016 in FiOS tech support. There was so much surplus time available to sign up for. I remember signing up for surplus the night before and they called me at home to tell me I didn't have to come in. It was a Monday. Good times but of course a big RIF came later.

No joke, we are taking more calls overall. It’s the new hires and the negotiations messing things up.

I’m happy it’s not just me thinking this! I’m WFH Customer Service and got my first call after waiting 12min today. Something is definitely off. My supervisor is thinking the same thing.

‘It’s AI’….NOPE. They’re sending them overseas.

A busy day used to be 23,000 calls. Now we’re taking close to 30,000 on a Monday.

I’m thinking it’s 2 things.

  1. They’re outsourcing as much as they can to make it look like no calls are coming in to benefitthe company.

  2. Too many new hires.

Definitely a package incoming.
