Rumors are heating up about March layoffs, does anybody here know more about it?

I saw one layoff of a colleague last week, eng position .
I have noticed on linked in GM level leaders being laid off. They write it as “restructuring”. The whole GM title is now gone at Suncor.
Dude with the Rich Kruger Suncor, layoffs are ALWAYS on the table. Have a disagreement with your boss… laid off. You in the bottom 5-10% of performers, laid off. Getting close to retirement? Laid off. Live and work and have a mortgage in Fort McMurray? Laid off. Oh but look at the stock price!!! Laying people off makes the stock price higher because we can buy back shares! Maximum number of people to lay off.
Just do your best, and be prepared. Under Rich Krugers Suncor layoffs are always on the table and a tool used to in-still fear into the organization. Just be ready when you get the phone call after your shift. You’ll know it’s your time to be laid off.
I think this website posts generic questions like this once in a while for engagement. I am not in the know on anything, but it would surprise me if there were any layoffs coming in March, other than the slow, continuous trickle we've seen over the last year.
