@ny Did that RIF offer a severance package?
I wonder what the scoring matrix is and if age or as a result salary has anything to do with it. The last RIF I noticed some of our best staff who were older were let go from Medicare.
@ep Except the layoffs of the last ten years have not been based on merit/skill but rather consultants' arbitrary scoring.
If Maurice wants another 500 people gone, it won't make much a difference if your work is high quality and you're close with your manager.
@ep you obviously haven’t been at HCSC long enough to know they don’t care what you bring to the table or how valuable your skills are. If you’re on the cut list they cut you regardless. A number and a $ in savings.
@aq make yourself invaluable to your team. If you are that, and the company or organization or your boss doesnt recognize that and tell others, you know it is time to take your value elsewhere.
@cc if you all are worried about RIFs, you need to start looking for other companies.
@aq I couldn't agree more. The information posted here is unreliable and of absolutely no value. This has turned into nothing but trolls.
@aq Unfortunately it is a game, in the name of "managing" the bottom line, bonuses and their own ares.
I am tired of people posting these cryptic and vague messages. Either you know something or you don't. Potential layoffs are not a game. This is people's livelihood we are talking about with bills to pay and mouths to feed. I encourage people not to post here unless you have a genuine question or know something and wish to inform others. Maybe having or not having a job doesn't matter to some people but it does to me. There are some that take these posts at face value and are scared for their future and want answers.
