Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Completely burnt out

Lately I feel like I literally have nothing left to give. The relentless pressure we have to deal with non-stop and the constant stress have drained me completely dry. I'm absolutely exhausted. The one and only reason I'm still here is that finding another job is impossible right now.

My current department is like that, too. Also not a newbie. Makes me miss my last department.

Put yourself first, no one here will.
Sounds like FI CE where I am. Volumes continue to skyrocket but staffing stays the same. Everyone is miserable, looks so depressed during connect weeks and management basically scoffs and looks the other way. It’s horrible. (And no, I am not a newbie)

Been with Fidelity for a number of years and there is no doubt the workloads and demands have increased 10-fold at least in the managed accounts world mostly within the last year. Finding it extremely difficult to maintain a positive and upbeat attitude when quite frankly just like you said feeling totally exhausted and ready to be spun off the hamster wheel. Many sales cultures get to the point where management expects higher turnover but feel the added expenses are worth it while newer employees come in fresh and will be able to run hot for a while then rinse and repeat with another new hire when those newer employees are spent. The issue is when it becomes too much of a sales is all that matters culture is when the clients, culture and integrity of the firm suffer. I bet a lot of the financial management firms are feeling like they need capture as much share as possible quickly due to changing demographics of younger more financially savvy investors, Ai automations and competitive margin pressures.

Same here mentally not from workload but due to constant fear of layoffs. The nonstop reorgs and changes are exhausting with constant fear of losing my job
