I am wondering if anyone impacted by the RIF was close to retirement, maybe within 5 years.

I was!! I also worked remote and am guessing that is the true reason I was RIF'd. BTW - Please share with any one at Anthem - if you have an HSA an it is with WealthCare you are stuck with that company and can not move your money - it stays with them until the funds are depleted. You can only change HSA company's during open enrollment which my rif'd period ends in September so I wont be here for Open Enrollment!! What a crock of BS!!!!!
