That would make sense, it's pay week. I don't know how we're supposed to keep it together until this wave is over. I'm already stressed out of my mind.

@116 I thought that initially but if a team is already lean and someone also takes VRP, don't think they would hit the same team?
@fs Not necessarily. They want a certain percentage of people to accept the VRP offer. If they don't meet that goal, others wouldn't be 'safe'.
I was laid off in the 1/29 round. My access was cut off after work hours on Friday. I had two full days on the full network to get anything I needed.
@jt, I think most of us know that, but it still doesn't mean they cut you off right before that meeting. Imagine the scenario, you are cut off from access first thing in the morning, so now you have a bunch of people who have no idea they are being let go, spending time trying to login instead of being at that meeting. I don't see how this goes well.
@jp webex does work without having to connect to zscaler
@ez, in past rounds, I heard people were given to the end of the day to handle anything like that, then access is shut down by the next day. I'm not sure for the more recent 1/29. But my thoughts are if you are cut off before notification, how would people join the webex meeting where they are informed of their JE? That level of exact timing for each person in each time zone for each meeting, seems difficult to unlikely.
do you guys think people who take VRP will essentially be "saving" their team from potentially having more cuts?
@bf Not to mention, typically your access will but cut off right before you are informed. You won't have the chance to go in and get anything!
It's been said on here several times that the layoffs only happen on the Thursday in-betwen paydays. That's because it's two days before the actual pay period end date (and because a Thursday notification gives a work day to cool off before the weekend, as well as time to track someone down if they are hard to get a hold of).
For example, this Friday's paycheck, 2/6/26, is for the work period 1/18/26 to 1/31/26. And there was a big layoff last Thursday on 1/29/26.
But I've also heard that Thursday February 19 is another round of big layoff numbers. That's the day before an actual payday, which doesn't fit the historical pattern. Also, layoffs will continue until October but in much smaller numbers.
I would never say don’t stress as no one knows your financial or health situation. I would say do what you can control. If you have benefits, use them. Go get your checkups, refill your prescriptions, get your kids glasses, do what you’re able to while you can. Update your resume, if you need documents, contact information or anything personal that you save on your work computer get it now. Don’t wait until it happens and you’re too frazzled to get what you need. If it doesn’t happen, you’ll still have everything in order.
@a4 This, and the severance is likely to get worse from this point onward.
Don’t be. I was stressing the whole month of January.
I was laid off last week. It was liberating. It’s like the fear of a sh-t being much much worse than the needle pr--k.
The uncertainty is tough but this place is a sinking ship. If you’re nervous now, you’re going to be nervous later. It will never end. Your best option is to take the severance, reskill and find an adjacent path.
No need to stress, friend.
Jobs come and jobs go. There will be another just around the corner.
