Every major company in the world has always used five rankings: 3 - Average, 2- a bit above, 4- a bit below, 1 - splitting the atom and 5 - about to be fired. No more than 15% are allowed to rank 1, 40% can enter 1 and 2 combined. Nobody is forced to be in the bottom two ranks (4, 5), so average (3) becomes the new low. Only 60% of us end up getting it.
MW seemed to intentionally deceive in the SETH when he said there would be no forced distribution. Does he realize that Chevron is a public company and he opens the company to litigation when he so clearly lies. What a potato.
ES Townhall - bottom 5% get to leave with a package or PIPed and no package.
There will be a distribution and there will be calibration sessions.
@OP please state/reply with where you have factual data from a Town Hall, management or HR communication, that there is FORCED categories? Tick tock tick tock I'll check back here every week. You don't have facts, you have rumors. Bleh.
ENRON 2.0. So playing Enron, became political and only relationships counted, cutthroat, bad mouthing, no team..yup culture change at Chevron now. How did it turn out for ENR0N???
@ac 15%? Oh my I thought it would have been closer to 5%
15% forced rankings of low performers after a year long, painful layoff. Chevron has become the dollar store Exxon.
As Cersei once said, "When you play the Game of Thrones, you win or you get PIP'd."
