Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Cigna 401k

At this rate, I will not be surprised if Cigna starts taking away some perks like 401k match.

Cigna might start reducing match %, freeze 401k program for sometime or even completely remove 401k benefit to force people to quit.

The HIH folks are not suffering. They get 18 vacation days, 12 personal days, 12 sick days, 12 holidays, paid for meals at work, paid transportation to and from work, better maternity and paternity leave. The have company paid team outings. Should I go on? This company is sc--wing us because AI is going to replace you. AI = Another Indian. Sandeep thanks you.

Band 3 pays their own internet. I’m totally fine with this given it’s significantly more cost effective than driving 45-60 minutes at minimum one way. I have no issue with verient tracking my work either.

@ck

I think they only took it away from Band 4.
Maybe Band 3 as well.

@cm This is correct, regardless of band level. List of states requiring payment is easily G**gled.

WFH internet was company paid for all until about two years ago. They changed it to be dependent on band. Only bands one and two had their internet paid. I wouldn’t be surprised if that changes.

I think some states require the internet stipend for w@h. Most of us do not get it, or ever got it for that matter.

@c2 They stopped PTO payout after Jan 1 2026 here so that makes sense. Headed in the same direction since Blackrock is a shareholder for both UHC and Cigna now.

Back in the Great Recession, the company I worked for stopped 401K matching. It su-ked, but it probably bought the company a few months of payroll.

Interesting, they stopped matching after they stopped paying unused PTO.
