Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Are we done with mass layoffs for good?

Are we going to have small, constant layoffs all the time from now on and no more major rounds? That certainly seems to be the case lately.

Small layoffs don’t have to be announced to the market. Honeywell never wants this stuff impacting stock price.

@OP+1kgd2ILb For SPS, plans are wrapped up for 2022 RIF's. The heavy-hitting site closures we have all seen mentioned here over and over again will begin in earnest in Q1. No time to waste per GK's email. You will see some big groups of people being sent home when these buildings close. US and EU beware. Plans are by the start of Q2 the smallest sites will be shut. Then the mid-size, then the biggest... FM seems to have some time, but for how long I don't know. If you made it this far, dust off your resume for sure.

@1xak+1kgd2ILb I also heard there were a few SPS field salespeople let go on 12/19. I wonder why they gave these folks the 401K match before dumping them?

They did the ole ALIEN ABDUCTION, aka Stealth RIF in Overhaul Monday(12-19). Three tech's that I know of, and 2 customer support O/H engineers. One of the engineers they called in, was on vacation. Manager called him in for an alleged customer issue. Saw him in the parking lot going in, we talked going in, he said our manager needed confirmation on this particular customer issue. Saw him 20 minutes later, he stopped by and said he was let go(fired)! 35 years with the company! Our other CSE with 8 years was let go earlier that morning, as were three techs. Talk about a cold and heartless company. Shortly before lunch, our manager stopped by on his way out, and informed me that "we" need to meet our year end OH deliveries, and "To call him if you need him, I will be be California with my family , and get back January 9th". Talk about a complete sociopath. Could not care less of the lives he just destroyed, your typical honeywell manager!

Part of SPS will get sold, there is no way HON can manage with lower margins in PPE. HON needs fat margins to compensate for leadership screwups

Depends on your definition of "mass".

Site closures aren't done yet so if you are one of those sites it would be considered a mass layoff.

I don't know much about SPS but it sure seems they are hurting. If the layoffs were as bad as this board indicates maybe they're up for divestiture. That doesn't mean all employees would be let go. Someone has to be around to do some work.

You keep thinking that. The only thing blocking mass layoffs is the annoying need to ship product. As soon as leadership figures out how to sell stuff without building/making stuff we can continue the efficiency efforts.
Ask Mike -- he says we probably need more people in ISC ( his alma mater) .. guess where that census comes from ?
