QA for complaints in SLC got notified today that they would be let go by end of 2027. And in a town hall where they showed a map with SLC not on it for core locations and then just moved on like it was nothing.

Does anyone understand the ramifications of this for someone in Tech considering moving to the SLC (Main St) location? Am I understanding that they may be shutting down the location?
Salt Lake was once a strong market in WF’s footprint. Over the last several years they’ve had many branch closures and both their major operations buildings are nearly dead with around a 20% occupied rate. It’s sad because it’s a strong market with a good talent pool. I was displaced last year when a similar restructuring announcement happened in my org. Thought I would have at least a year before getting my notice a few months later.
@a9 Find a job where? What if that person is newly hired? Can they afford to move?
Taking the severance and letting WF take the initiative to let them go is the better option.
That will be St Louis too eventually im sure.
Most people here want to leave this godless company.
@az CSBBO Complaints
the super advanced notice is cuz they want you to LEAVE so they don't have to pay you severance
@OP ECMO? Is this brokerage or bank complaints?
Yeah, let's pull out of another place with relatively low cost of living / low wages and hire a bunch of clowns in the bigger urban S holes, that'll end well!
@a9 it’s actually any time between now and the end of 2027. They won’t be more specific.
You are being given a two year notice to find a new job- why are you complaining? Most people are given 60 days.
For what it’s worth ops has been trying to exit LA for 3 years now. It’s the never ending delay. They also are laying off people in core locations in the mean time. If they say 2027, maybe by 2030?
@OP good old wf way. Thats when they all found out.
Once Ops decided to leave, everything else is basically going with it.
