Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

I got laid off and I feel, I guess nothing?

I just got laid off, and weirdly, I'm fine? I thought I'd be freaking out, but I just feel numb. Maybe I'm in shock, or maybe I was just so done with this place that it's a relief.

With TrumpRX on its way for fertilty dr-gs. Will we layoff in sales? Not much to sell when everyone is getting crazy cheap medication.

@a8 usually the person can work (or not and still be paid) for 30 days. Today and until they stop, it’s immediately. Two former teammates were told they had until 5p their time zone before access would be cut. Neither are rolls where you would have information that would cause them to not let you work. I suspect because it’s been a blood bath today the company wasn’t taking any chances or thought it would minimize the impact.

Every area was impacted... Sales, product, IFP, CHC, Care Solutions (case management), Evernorth, Evicore, Innovation, Medical directors, CAC........ EVERY AREA...... It was a blood bath.

@ae we put departments and teams and it helps identify us. HR has people on here and the last thing the remaining people want is to put a target on our back. We're trying to stay while we plan our exit

@ac exactly like just hearing people got let go is sort of…redundant

Not sure why everyone here seems to hate case management? Sorry we want to know if the rug is about to be ripped out from under us too.

Premium CM was impacted. Some CMs, a director and senior manager were let go.

I got JE’d today. I had been fearing this for 2 years. And I feel nothing but relief. This place has no strategy beyond monetizing a broken system until the wheels fall off. This is why we have made zero investments in infrastructure and why our costs are so high. It’s been quarter to quarter since the ESI merger and we are now in our day of reckoning.

We all know this. Some of will ride this out. And I won’t judge anyone who does so. The pay is good and the job market su-ks.

I needed this push.

Just like the other thread mentioned: I’m not quitting, but I’m perfectly fine with them cutting the cord.
