Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

1 week RTO beginning of March

Anyone else heard of this? Are they really going to go back to 1 week return to office? Heard from someone that works in HR

Obviously not. That would only benefit employees, so no way upper management makes that decision. Swipe the badge, get addicted to being burnt out and stressed out since most groups that are client facing are super understaffed (outside of PI), put your family second and be dangerously depressed. That’s the only way.

Well the connect week schedules have been released through August so I’m thinking this is nothing more than a rumor

I sure hope Fidelity has awakened to realize this forced policy has little benefit and the things Fidelity cites as reason for connect weeks can be accomplished in 1 week a month vs 2 weeks a month just the same- why frustrate the employees with challenged parking and tight work spaces. Happy employees make productive employees- I accomplish much more on work from home weeks. Hope there is some real truth to this post!

Yeah can confirm that the rumor is true, but there isn't anything set in stone yet. There's still ongoing talks about it. I'd expect there to be another layoff and then they will make the announcement right after to rinse away that bad news , pretty smart on their part if it comes to fruition

They'll never do it. The Boomers high up are obsessed with people being in the office. The only reason it's not 100% of the time is because they don't have the real estate.
