This is what happens when you eliminate all people with experience. The Willow Project is already a fragmented fiasco with uncontrolled infighting and questionable decisions. Good luck getting anything done on schedule or under budget with that D&C team!

The new business model was generated by an MBA with 4 years experience at McKinsey and a total of 16 months oil/energy experience. The plan is simple save money by laying off people within 7-10 years of retirement and reform the culture to reflect a more modern and inclusive reality. Also, efforts to marginalize and disincentivize and unionization efforts.

COP laid off 12.5% of staff. HR was strategic to lay off staff with the most experience and closest to retirement. The people they laid off had value and continuity. This is the start of how COP eventually sells assets to Hilcorp
