It sounded like she chose to leave as she has a "next role" lined up, but CareFirst will have an "acting CIO" for the time being, Not a great sign.

@ce BCBSA does not get into internal politics, turnover, etc. among their licensees. They will get involved if / when contractual terms are not fulfilled by a licensee or instances of malfeasance. But turnover is just considered normal business operations even at senior levels. However, while it may not be formally acknowledged, there has to be quiet consternation.
@gr Shocker
@kq More than one bully at CareFirst.
Very tumultuous culture lately. CF let all the knowledge walk out the door. Now how do they expect things to operate smoothly without high pressure and stress since there are minimally experienced resources?
One provider area has a female bully as a manager (IT) and she really needs to go. They should focus on bringing in FTE and minimalizing the contractors.
Such a great company, let’s hope it sustains!
@fv I've seen rumors about a merger/acquisition a few times on here, but no hard evidence. Most seem to point to the old CEO's move to Guidewell, but that is...tenuous. Does anyone have anything besides verbal rumors?
Yes this is 100% confirmed. D is leaving. Last day is 2/6. T will be interim for at least 6-9 months while they find a replacement.
@ce Also wondering this. I have heard nothing about it, no formal announcements made. Not that rumors aren't turning out to be true lately, but this will be interesting to follow.
Because CareFirst is merging!!!!! She won’t have a job if she doesn’t leave!
Especially given the unsuccessful migration to G6 with members in an uproar- maybe she’s the scape goat.
Has it been confirmed she is resigning? How is the BCBS association not asking questions about all of this recent turnover?
