In the title but just wondering if they kick you out right away if going to a competitor (even if you give a 2 week notice). Want to see if they would pay you out for those weeks regardless.

In New York, every single person I have ever known that announced they were going to a competitor was basically cut that day. Especially those on the sales side.
Do not, repeat, DO NOT, tell ANYONE where you are going. If pressed, say you have to keep it confidential or allude to a personal situation and moving. And skip the exit interview. Don't announce or change your profile on LinkedIn, don't tell anyone until you are at least one month, preferably three, in the position--past the shakedown cruise. Especially if you are going to a competitor.
Its up to the people leader and dependent on your position, there is not a "standard" per say. I have seen it done both ways. More often the person is needed to transition duties and they are retained.
Why tell them you are going to a competitor? Just don’t say anything
