Now that things have settled down, we are fully focused on cutting costs. That’s all the LT cares about. With all the cost cutting there have got to be layoffs. The question is when? 2026? 2027? How long does it take for layoffs to come to us? Where are all the employees going with all the work being cut? Trying to see if I can last long enough to get laid off. Wishing I took the EOI but had no idea what we were in for.

Fool around find out
What is FAFO?
The new PMP ranking system may reduce the need to have periodic layoffs. You might see a culling of a few percent on an ongoing basis. Plus, you may see others told to find new work in the next PDC or get fired once they have suitable ENGINE replacements.
The consequence here will be to teaming and collaboration. Why would you want to make your competitors stronger? Especially the ones in India who are being explicitly groomed to replace you?
2026 is the year to FAFO. EOI will be the final option in 2-3 years when they are ready to offshore more roles from Houston. The next 2-3 years will be testing your patience and sanity to see if you can follow simple instructions to come into the office 4 days a week to work in loud crowded spaces. If not, you can FAFO. Encouraging employees to leave is the new game.
I heard that most BUs missed their targets in 2025 and India isn't fully set up yet. I'm hearing smaller layoffs in second half 2026.
Personally, I don’t think they have a plan.
It’s just wake up and see what happens and cut costs.
- We don’t know. No one knows. It will be small targeted groups. IT, I hear, is still overstaffed. Untrue - but there isn’t a plan so it’s a coin flip.
