IT management across business shoukd be cut. Does nit make sense to keep teams in US and offshore

All lies. They can’t touch FAE’s.
When management speaks during financial releases, the message has been consistent. After cutting roughly thirteen thousand roles, the next actions are unlikely to touch frontline union positions.
Based on internal management guidance, the focus remains delayering and cost normalization. That points again to middle management, directors, senior managers, program roles, and centralized corporate functions.
Finance, HR, IT oversight, and internal operations remain exposed, especially roles layered between leadership and vendors or managing very small teams.
This is not being driven by individual performance. It is driven by span of control targets and the need to continue showing cost action after the last reduction.
Without a real growth strategy, this is not a reset. It is a continuation.
@ek wow that article was so spot on. It’s like he had a crystal ball.
reducing headcount at Lake Mary is the best way to get rid of employees who just collect paychecks and don’t work. do it at the people leader level since they are often organizing useless events that are not work related. plus having finance disconnected from the rest of Verizon is a bad business practice
200 retail stores will be divested to indirect in 2026. This will trim the already large districts. You are on the list if your store is close proximity to another corporate door or hasn’t received a nex gen remodel. Dan’s plan is to limit corporate stores and fill voids with agents.
@fk and the rest of those groups
It’s time for accounting to automate. They never shrink headcount and mostly push spreadsheets to one another.
memories.......

@c1 I hope you don't work for engineering or ops.
Why are they even buying frontier. They like to rent everything
Why bother owning more
Just accounting tricks

FAE/cell tech’s have a big target on their backs.
@OP I really should be you and the begging that keep asking. You don't belong in a corporate job. Truth
@bc I would agree. I have been here long enough to see the Nynex and Mci mergers, both times Verizon employees were laid off afterwards.
Once the frontier merger is completed. Also it will be VZ employees only. There is a clause as part if the merger/deal that Frontier employees cannot be laid off for a certain period of time.
Arvind Basra needs to go
Every org in VZ, mostly management side. AD’s SD’s and above from my understanding. All of you who are still there——-one thing you can do is prepare yourself in a way that you know your worth. Start from today, dont trust any of these clowns. VZ is a sinking ship, its a matter of time and they arent failing because of the network, they are failing from poor and unfair/unjust decisions.
Wait and Watch!!!!!!!
@OP Not the union . Maybe more managers will be let go .
@OP all the dead weight that is still left
There will be a mass layoff by March 1st. Many Frontier first level supervisors will be eliminated. There is no need in paying a large salary and benefits to micromanage 15-20 technicians per supervisor. Lots of money has been wasted on the Frontier side.
Does it matter? They will keep coming and coming and coming....
