Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

What if you’re on pto on the day of layoffs?

What happens when you’re not available the day they send out the meeting invites?

Oh, you'll get called. They don't care about PTO.

At Sprint, we got laid off during an all hands event at a bowling alley. They announced it to the group and then told everyone to go have fun bowling and laser tag.

They will still call you, I was on unplugged time when my store got layoff back on 2023, they called me, but I was already looking for another position within the company as I was moving out of state, so the told me I was fine as I was already looking for another position

I have had that happen before. I had one of my employees impacted by a prior RIF while he was on a beach somewhere.

I was asked to call him on vacation, but since he was returning in two days, I was given the clearance to simply wait until he returned.

Had it been even one day longer, I would have likely been given the grim job of ruining his trip.

Not all business units may have that same flexibility or any flexibility at all.
