Oh, you'll get called. They don't care about PTO.
At Sprint, we got laid off during an all hands event at a bowling alley. They announced it to the group and then told everyone to go have fun bowling and laser tag.
Ive heard of people finding out while away...in company cars...and having the car picked up.
They will still call you, I was on unplugged time when my store got layoff back on 2023, they called me, but I was already looking for another position within the company as I was moving out of state, so the told me I was fine as I was already looking for another position

You still get the call.
You just get laid off.
