Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

What happens after you get laid off? Do you still need to work?

Do you still need to work and hand off all your projects while you're still on payroll?

Sounds like no one is giving you actual updates.

No if you're laid off the expectation is you no longer need to work. Your projects are done. Some Managers may ask for your assistance to help hand over projects and it's really your call if you want to help but that's a personal choice. Keep in mind, there will be an opportunity to apply to open roles at T-Mobile once the dust settles. Your willingness to help transition does play a role in your "re-hire". That doesn't mean you need to stretch yourself. help should be reasonable. Your job now is to find a new job, that's your primary role at T-Mobile. Whether that's finding a role internal or external.

As for what happens next. That depends on your tenure and org. Most will stay on until April. That means you will still get paid and continue to get your benefits such as healthcare. Once April come, that is when your severance kicks in. This is dependent on what you were offered.

I hope this helps.

You take a mental break during that period and get back on the horse. Don’t give them any more of your time. They have deemed you irrelevant. This isn’t a company that is in the red and you should feel bad for in any way. This is and has been for the past several years corporate greed at its worst.

No, and please don’t. I’ve had impacted peers in the past offer to help with “how to” of certain functions and I kindly refused, so kind of them to offer so that I didn’t struggle but Tmobile told them that their experience and knowledge was longer needed.. I reached out to them to see how they were and stay in touch.. but not to use energy discussing Tmobile.
Sending everyone the best for this next upcoming week.
