Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

Feb JEs

Any idea if the Feb JEs will involve low performers OR specific functions (e.g product mgt, QE, project mgt…)?

@jr makes sense for sales as we no longer have medicare lob to manage.
Lets not even mention how much is wasted on that golden circle nonsense.

@kj Original commenter just to add, a lot of teams in my org had cuts end of december already so not sure how much more they can do in our area.

heard from a higher up that Q1 is going to be a tough period for cigna and come march/april can expect more cuts. it seems to be performance based but take that at face value. (was told not just my org but cigna wide)

If your department was not offered VRP, does this mean you are on the chopping block for JE? Keep hearing that Sales and Implementation are going to be hit hard. Any truth to this?

@gj same in my department. The most incompetent su-k ups that lick boots that thrive on gossip and politics.

Pointless, they won’t actually tell you. I’d disagree, it’s not all low performers, it’s whomever the leadership is threatened by most and that includes those who dare open their mouth to speak against them despite if they are hard workers or not. In my dept it’s only the a-s kissers that get promoted, talent irrelevant.

@ff Your manager ranks you. Some areas are more subjective and some are not.

@ap how do you get identified as one?

@a4 I agree with @a4. If you're identified as a low performer, you should be looking of an outside role -- that applies to all.

Stop prolonging the agony and misery. Start looking and find something new. There is something better out there.
