SB is on several company boards providing excellent guidance on milking a company dry. His personal financial success greats high demand for fellow board members to learn from the Oracle.

If it goes CH11, shareholders will lose 70%-80% or more from current price; CH7 they lose everything. He is worried about the post bankruptcy lawsuits. If he says anything materially misleading about a recovery, and it goes t-ts up, that is a reason to sue. In normal times, SB could (and did!) say any nonsense that came to him. No we are facing the end and his words could be used against him in a civil case and has to be careful.

TL;DR: His hype could be construed as market manipulation.

We're at the end now. The problems from a year or two ago are quaint compared to where we are at now.

A raise or bonus is easy for SB.
They are built in to contracts. If he doesn't get it, it comes with other problems for those not approving it.
SB approves shareholder return, shareholders return bonus to SB. We are all standing here holding our yanks.

@am what shareholder lawsuits. Waste of time. If any shareholders were paying attention, Steve would be gone. Instead he will probably get a raise this year.

Know this: they do not give a sh-t what you think. The only people they worry about are shareholders and regulators. That is the reason for the silence.

Not a 100% done deal they can make the 130 mil debt payment on Jan 30. Mind you this is the smallest debt maturity wall they face in the next 3 years. The ones in 27 and 28 are the end.

Steve the coward is in hiding, working on a talk track to blame employees for this disaster of a year and the inevitable insolvency.

@a2 that would be the tenth time. Outside firms cash the check and disappear. Never, not once, have they provided an original idea. Most frustrating to see my own work presented back to us at a 2000% markup.

@a2 It almost takes longer to write the communications that the ship is sinking then for the actual ship to sink. The worse thing is that in our case we don't have a drunk captain at the helm of an oil tanker; our team is sober.

I am under the impression that an outside corporate strategist or entire firm has been brought in to advise executive leadership of what to and what not to do going forward.
The company is in serious trouble and serious decline and saying the wrong thing will damage any reputation and financial opportunity left in the company.
If you notice the lack of communication, this is often on purpose. The less visible and the less said by anyone on an executive committee, the better.
We used to get bombarded with emails from the CEO, a VP, Then a regional person basically all saying the same thing within hours of each other.
This does not happen at all now. We get no communication, not even a holiday e-mail.
This is all by design and a terrible sign of the future.
