Thread regarding Blackbaud Inc. layoffs

Blackbaud's JustGiving faces a regulatory investigation in the UK

Numerous UK newspapers picking this one up over the weekend, including The Times, The Daily Mail, and others.

No doubt their risk exposure / scrutiny with the regulators will increase as they continue to offshore UK and USA product roles and resources to India on the cheap. Looking at the numbers cited in their financial reports, JustGiving is a total cash cow!

Don‘t stay at Blackabud. The clock is ticking. Find a better position while you still can. It‘s awful trying to find new positions while unemployed folks!

I'm sure headlines like this will be even more frequent when the transition to India completes over the coming months. If they can't stick to the rules now, how are they supposed to?

"I'm bracing for more layoffs this next month or two for sure."

Bro I'm bracing for them later today if they haven't already happened.

People working here have been complaining about the ethics of this for years. Product and leadership are well aware. Greed never changes. It needs a proper investigation and a big fine to really shake things up.

The company line: "We will continue to ensure we provide a transparent and user‑friendly experience that supports charities and donors."

Not if good people keep mysteriously disappearing overnight. I'm not sure 'skeleton crew' even covers it any more!

We can all rest assured knowing no one in the ELT will face any consequences, still take home millions, and good people will get the ax and face the consequences of their actions.

I'm bracing for more layoffs this next month or two for sure. Probably more likely than for you guys across the pond - we always seem to get hit worse. Hiring in India is far cheaper and they ask less questions about what it is they're building. Ethics seem to be secondary to profits.

Good luck.

Of course design patterns like this are predatory (and probably deliberately so). Its widely known that this sort of business model relies on well meaning people who are not really alert or technical.
