Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

VP’s and Directors “resigning to pursue other opportunities”

Over the past few days I have seen numerous post and emails regarding VPs and Directors leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.

Why? What’s going on?

Are they getting ahead of knows cuts in fiscal 2026?

All those people are almost certainly the after-effects of the layoffs. "Separation agreement". It's the higher up version of a layoff. It's basically a layoff, but they get a golden parachute to glide down on over several months.

I’ve been saying since October that the worst is yet to come. Too many senior leadership in distribution are jumping ship, many target veterans, not to retire, but to move to a better opportunity elsewhere. They don’t want to be involved in what’s still to come.

Seeing three store execs resign yesterday was interesting. I wondered if it had to do with our response to ICE but that wouldn’t make sense given the timing and locations.

It's quite possible they're being told to retire or pursue other opportunities and if they leave nicely they'll get a severance and if they don't leave nicely they'll be fired.

@a4 Yes, what areas? Hopefully, Home Division. There are a bunch of untalented hacks with big paychecks that need to just leave. Ever since they arrived, things have gone downhill.
