Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

What’s the update this week?

I’m confused on what’s happening.

Are all leaders in the company expected to be hybrid roles now?
For grades 16+, are those remote roles being eliminated?
Or were these layoffs this week just certain org decisions?

Can someone clarify the moves made this week?

@gr Right. This is fine. I'm okay with the events that are unfolding currently. That's okay, things are going to be okay. 🔥🔥🔥

@cd then quit! If you don’t like the corporate environment which most are in metro cities, then find a company that fits your desired lifestyle. No one is forcing you to stay.

If I were young (and free) I would go to Cincinnati. Cheap housing and you can even live in KY if you want a more rural lifestyle. Unfortunately due to family obligations I cannot move right now.

@cd first timer in a big city?! Hub, aka major market. Major market generally is a populated, downtown area. Find me one that doesn’t have some level of crime right now.

Stay on topic here and find another site to rant about crime in.

@c2 Good luck with them trying to spin this one again at their bullsh-t townhalls. Move to the Hub and get beat or worse on your the way to the office. That sounds fu---d up MC.

Can you imagine the change in the company culture if the headquarters was in Dallas, Austin, Orlando, Nashville, Charlotte and away from the dreariness of winter in Minnesota and the failed big government progressive city of Minneapolis?

The update is that they want us in the crime ridden Minneapolis hub and you better relocate to the hub or else says the mo-o in charge who gives no sh-t about our lives. Minneapolis has fallen that place is dangerous and done. No one wants to move to this sh-t hole. People will start moving away to less crime ridden areas of the U.S.

@a7 I hope they back off on the "roles must be hybrid" before it gets to my own management. My level 1 and 2 are both remote. They're both really good people and losing them would be devastating.

They won’t eliminate that many positions in one swoop. They’ll just continue to reduce remote employees merit and bonus pools until they get the #’s or roles in hubs. Problem is many svp roles aren’t going to find employment hybrid or in office for their pay scales so they’ll be hard to budge

Definitely not that broad, plenty of 16s through SVPs are still remote and likely to continue like that for another year or two. I suspect they will continue to try to thin the herd of remote Employees just through normal attrition. Maybe at some point they take drastic measures, but not for a couple years I have to think.
