The cuts in VBG definitely had to be performance based. I’ve been looking up VBG jobs that have been posted in Jan in various states on Verizon careers website and there are several openings for client executives, senior account manager/account executive roles and the retail smb positions. Some of the cities I selected recently had people riffed in that area/territory last month and now the job is open and there was NOT additional headcount last quarter so the q4 hiring freeze is not the reason the job is open now. essentially they just axed some people to get rid of them and hopefully bring on better talent in Q1. At least that’s how it appears to me, what do you folks think? 🤷♂️

@rn dont forget people showing up to the office wearing flip flops, hats, and other unprofessional attire. people working from home wearing hats, getting sick every Friday afternoon, and babysitting their kids while pretending to work.
When we RTOd, the same woman in my department was doing what she did in 2019 befor the plandemic, on her PC looking at Expedia.
I guess having your clothes practically falling off in the office is an effective strategy!
good points. the accounting department used to let employees play video games in office while on the job under the guise of “employee appreciation week”. total clown show
@bw relocating finance out of Lake Mary to a location with other departments is integral for the company’s success. don’t forget the crayons and coloring books on every floor either.
@c8 yes, I am talking about bag holders, not the waste above. SAMs, CEs both impacted in our market, as were some ADs. Some even Diamond Club. It was all an algorithm focused on how much the employee cost the company, not results.
@c3 and you’re aware I’m talking only about frontline sales positions within Verizon business? No other sector.
It was not performance based in all cases. Most cut in our market were those with significantly higher tenure. 20+ years for most.
Jobs are posted externally for Lake Mary too. They need more ping pong players and puzzle builders! When they bother to show up that is. Wfh whenever you want is alive and well at Lake Mary!
