@ac If you are not willing to move then say Yes anyway, Get 18 Months of guarenteed work plus the next yearly bonus . You don't have to train a replacment otherwise Chances are you are separated by the end of the year so they don't have to pay out a bonus . I'd like to stay 18 months and get a severence but I don't think its going to happen.

If you are worried about severence its hard to look for a job. If you leave you get nothing so they can string you along for 18 months , If they actually gave us the seperation date it would be alot easier to choose the severence package.

Think about it this way

1) If you choose NO you will work every day after the signing deadline wondering when they are gong to send that email that you have 2 weeks left and you will not be able to apply for jobs since you can't leave unless you give up the severence. When you finally get the notice you will have your severence but no health insurance . There is nothing but stress every day choosing this option.
2) Choose yes and guarentee** yourself 18 months of work where you are with benefits plus a 2026 bonus . You can look for another job in peace, knowing you are not bound to staying to collect severence and knowing you have that 18 month safety net with insurance to find something else

**There is still the chance you get laid off anyway even if you choose yes

Everyone that I know in this situation has stated they will say, yes, they will relocate.

And not one of them actually intends to.

Heck, I actually already told my Boss the same. And we just laugh about it.

It cannot be overstated how inept and dimwitted Leadership is.

@af why do you care? I have no issue with someone doing that if they have the option.

2pm ET today. YES - relocate to Framingham 7/2027. NO - they will hold you either a week or a year making sure you cant cheat about thinking just to use all your vacation and get the severance.

I just hate my life…

"We find it's always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there's less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week."
