Question is what are you all doing about it? Staying put and keep looking? Take the payout and regroup/switch industry?
Absolutely, there are no future advancement opportunities, and things are going to continue to shrink. It's a job with very limited growth potential. The days of career advancement at IOL are long gone.
That’s all I need. But yeah, if I was a decade younger I’d be looking elsewhere
We are hourly contractors.
Just accept it and behave and plan your finances as one.
Adding the newly surfacted Venezeula competitions (yes, not necessarily this or next year, but definitely a major dark cloud), highly doubt any long terms future for IOL staff (vs Suncor, which is still a Canadian company)
I would be shocked if anyone moving from Calgary makes it 5 years.
