It is happening all the time. I saw someone that was laid off between Christmas and New Years on linkedin. The person was giving a bunch of BS about how happy he was to have the opportunity to work at Dell. The amount of BS being shoveled into that posting was huge. Anyways, the point is, there is no holiday grace period. When they deem your time has come, they jettison you quite quickly.

Waited until January 2nd to drop this on you. I don't know if they were being nice to wait until after the holidays? This seems to be normal behavior these days. I hope it works out for you.
