Thread regarding Open Text Corp. layoffs

Happy new year

Happy new year everyone hope yall have a successful year getting out of OT and landing an actual job in a better / good company. I would say great but even good is better than OT. I will be interviewing over next two weeks. Good riddance OT. They don't know what's going to it them in next week or so. Good luck OT "leadership" trying to fix this.

If your role involves mostly processing paperwork, chasing signatures for standard extensions, or administrative data entry, it is highly vulnerable. The ELT aims to have these tasks handled by our "Aviator" AI systems.

@fv all IT will be in Asia and Africa by 2040. In the Americas and Europe we will all be executives managing hundreds of AI bots
or
out of work collecting universal basic income trying to find things to do to feel productive

I'm in the Canada. I know my job is marked for India. I'm just waiting it out and doing as little as possible and refusing to train anyone from India. I figure I have 1 to 3 years before they do anything about it.

@aj
Not sure if you meant that as a question...but if you did..evidence of 'not knowing what is about to hit them' here is my take:
Sdy O., Ra, J*e M. and E**n didn't know what was going to hit them even 2 days before it happened. You can tell by the glowing OT posts they all made on LinkedIn from the OT event in Nashville. If they didn't see it coming at their level (one an Officer @ OT) ...that illustrates there is still A LOT of denial going on (and) I am sure Leadership is still telling everyone 'Don't worry, all is going great'..Also OT has perfected their layoff game because they have done it hundreds of times.

There are a lot of people that have been at OT a long time..(far longer than the MFI acquisition). They are very very comfortable in their roles.
They all think they are 'exempt' even though many of them live in the US or are Directors and VP's.
For all who are still at OT, regardless of your 'current title' (aside from looking for a job) I would advise to "buckle up" 2026 is going to be a bumpy ride for you. (Stating the obvious I know).
