Sneaky HR Processes - Made up performance benchmarks

Horrible the way those making the most
Money are targeted with bad performance reviews without discussion until time reviews are shared. If your not supported during the review discussion your targeted as the one who is put on a Coaching or Performance Plan that you are unable to be successful to achieve. There are soo many unhappy people who work there an stay because they need a job. Very sneaky and arbitrary!

Welcome to Cap One. All new hires should be briefed on the performance management system and/or do their due diligence before signing on. It’s no longer a secret that for 20 years, Cap One has been subscribing to this f’d up legacy-IBM performance management system that created a toxic culture. I don’t miss those BS 4-day crocodile tear sessions that cult leader Rich Fairbank mandates everyone sit through. He boo-hoo’s about how great everyone is and then orders 20% of the workforce be PIP’d. Who would voluntarily want to work there?

I like how the auto-tagging system correctly categorized this a #ToxicLeadership.

That about summarizes this company.

When I was there, after Covid and the return to office budgets were cut; then higher pay was targeted to make up the difference.

Yes I agree the target higher paying people like California where the pay is higher. Totally.
