Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Why is CDW management always clueless?

Why does my manager never seem to know anything? I ask a direct question about deadlines, budgets, or strategy, and I get a blank stare or vague promises. It's beyond frustrating.

100% feel this way. The middle managers I've worked with throughout my career have all fit the same mould: a-s kissing delegators who don't actually contribute anything of their own but have absolutely nothing against taking credit for everybody else's individual efforts. They don't have to be explicitly titled middle managers either, but you just know the type of person immediately once you're consistently asking "What is it exactly that you do...?" when they reach out to you.

The way CDW managers (and their managers) were shuffled around after every promotion or departure, it's no surprise I had three different managers within one year. With Sirius, I had a new manager every three years or so, and I didn't have to meet with them every two weeks. It was more like twice per year.

Former employee here. They acquired my company and ran it into the ground. And every time I asked for a plan as to where the company was heading, and how they’d handle the integration I got those exact blank stares. Best part is, despite my literally saying I would leave if they didn’t provide direction, they were absolutely shocked when I left.

There are so many sales middle managers that provide zero value nor support (to their sellers at least). Any issues that come up with accounts or customer sat they defer to directors and wipe their hands clean and move on. Literally worthless, yet they could stay in their roles for years and years no matter performance.

Sure there are some good ones who take the time to know their team and take care of things without involving directors but most it seems are intimidated by their direct boss and leave seller in the dust. Been here for 15 + years and the fear of managers sc--wing up / pi----g off their beloved director is at a fever pitch. Not to mention there are a select few who have a serious superiority complex which is hilarious, especially in SMB. Cocky, arrogant, and a great way to make their sellers look elsewhere.

most are people who couldn't hack it in sales so they think they can now manage. Hilarious.
