Thread regarding UPS layoffs

UPS closing Devils Lake , North Dakota Center. Drivers notified 12/29/25. Closes 2/26/26.

Drivers were told December 29, 2025 that facility would close February 26, 2026. The center is in between Minot , N.D. and Grand Forks, N.D. This 2025 peak season as reported by other centers also, has been the worst yet with skimpy deliveries, less trailer drop offs and much less U-haul rentals that in normal years.

Very sorry to see anyone go thru this . Prayers for better days soon to all .

Carol Tome ran the company into the ground. The higher stock prices were great for a while but the price is back to to where it was when she took over. Is the company better off for it?

Bismarck has the new building. Jamestown is not too far away and is much smaller.

Will Jamestown, North Dakota be closing? Its location like Devils lake lies in between 2 huge centers-Fargo and Bismarck.

Could one sign to watch for be abnormal frequent raising off prices that indicate a struggle just to keep up with huge dividends? Or does that not apply here?

A highway contract driver for the USPS told me this year has been the busiest in the ten or more years he has driven. Cages full of packages. I don't believe the "People can't afford groceries let alone shop on line" BS

@ag The seasonal support drivers showed that delivering UPS packages can be done effectively for only $23 an hour vs. the $45 an hour that UPS pays its union drivers.

How many other facilities are closing? The Teamsters needs to put a stop to "Satilite Centers", as it's a Union busting trick to close regular sorting buildings and flush out and void contract rules.

It will be hard to cover up how poorly this peak actually was.

package delivery business is toast. just trying to afford price gouged groceries only is hard enough. no money left over for common people to order anything else.
