Waiting to hit 5 years and take my sabbatical and go. Not a lot of companies offer sabbatical, so I want to stay here long enough to get it unless they let me go. I do hope not because I need it right now more than I care to admit and I am su-king it up even with the poor work conditions. Planning to go back to my old company. My old manager there told me I am welcome anytime. It was a smaller company with less benefits.
A block of cheese. No sardines this thos year due to budget cuts and the trump tax
Citi has never paid much in the way of merit increases. Citi is not a meritocracy. The difference in merit from a 1 to a 3 rating is about 1%. So why bother? Typically increases range from 1-3% across the board. No one works at Citi for the great raises. Most banks don't pay much increases, it's not just Citi. Banks are in the business of making money, cutting costs and driving stock price. Employees are the largest expense any company has. You want a bump in pay you gotta move around. I did hear that bonuses were slightly down and increases mostly flat to previous years. Decreasing the amount of bonuses helps pad the reserves for severance.

I hesitate make this post in light of the rhetoric that’ll most assuredly follow but here it goes….
The same sort of message was given to me in Oct when we were given the news of not to expect anything of substance in regards to a raise or bonus, so inside my head I replied with “Challenge accepted”, now, I’m slated for round 2 of an interview elsewhere. Here’s the part where people chime in with “impossible, no one is hiring its absolutely outrageous that you could possibly be interviewing for a job. Citi is the only place you can ever work” yada…yada…
I get it though. Those that are trapped or feel trapped rely on likewise company to feel better about their own stuck situation, so they let loose with the naysaying and heckling.
All that aside, my advice to you is to say inside your own head “challenge accepted” and start looking elsewhere outside of Citi. It may take a while but the job market will improve. For me, I leveraged my networked connections outside of Citi and got lucky, at least so far.
You will get you 1.5% and LIKE IT or go find another place to work. (story of my life for the past 5 years)

I'll tell you in 2weeks.
I doubt MDs are looking at this space. If they are they should be fired.
@cm I guess the OP and I do.
Who cares?
