Is anyone else having to change up their weekly shifts, to rotating, so that someone is working everyday? Instead of Monday thru friday?

@zk add time. Hint corporate- mandatory is just extra pay & no more work getting done.
@x5 this is interesting because the story corporate is getting told is that this is mandatory overtime days not them just shuffling shifts.
@xr This is what I can’t wrap my head around. Orders get sent back for d-mb sh-t all the time, weekend or not. We’re just going to have a bunch of retirees scheduling migrations on Sundays and then sending them back because id--t call center goods don’t tell them anything remotely true about the order they’re placing. We work for id--ts.
@x5 Hiring people to replace people would make too much sense. Instead make the techs work more. This new schedule makes no sense. You get just as many orders sent back on weekends as you do during the week. People are busy on the weekends & not always home. Except now, I can’t coach my kids teams or even watch them play. They are putting orders in front of all troubles. If you have a trouble, you can cancel your service & get a new service installed quicker than getting someone out on a trouble. It’s all about pumping the numbers.
@rt that’s a load of cr-p if your missing units and installs are not done in a timely manner than the solution is not to take away the 8 hrs I would work on Tuesday and make me work it on Saturday I’m still working 8 hrs but now I miss time with my family instead let’s hire people in slots when people quit instead of just getting rid of the position
Do ya love it?
Yes. We have to change our schedule to work Sunday thru Sunday. This means we will miss even more time with kids and family. The 6 days Monday thru Saturday wasn’t good enough. People have lives outside of this job but it doesn’t seem to matter. What we do is never good enough and all problems will always fall on technicians and be the technicians fault. They also changed it to were we travel around now. So late nights out of town and overtime isn’t good enough. When Covid hit we got busier…in and out of peoples homes. When everybody’s off holidays and weekends..we go in. We are a number here, not people with families and values. If we didn’t show up nothing would ever get done the right way but it doesn’t matter to the people up the ladder making all the money and decisions and having the time off. It’s greed that’s all it is.
It is company wide. We are missing on units and have a massive backlog of installs that don't seem to get scheduled timely. Instead techs get scheduled on 'installs' where they are replacing CPE or some other bull.
Maybe some of the on the ground techs can chime in why they think that is happening.
@fh Slick wants his bonus to buy another corvette
@dn definitely NC told it was company wide. Seems kool-aid is being served!
All of NC is doing it for sure. CST’s in my area are scheduled to work every other Saturday & some guys on Sundays. The company talks about family & work-life balance, well not anymore. If the area is busy, then work it , but this is not what I signed up. I agreed to overtime & occasionally working weekends, but not every other weekend.
The fiber deployment handout money that Kinetic is receiving from the government expires at the end of 2026. Overtime is being mandated now for the outside techs. The company doesn’t care about burnout to this group. Just make the numbers look great for the shareholders.
Told its company wide for CSTS and BSTS. But is it just happyin regional markets? Seems it’s happening in Concord NC
What state?
Yes CST’s working every other weekend
