How likely is that there will be Northrop Gruman layoffs? Any chatter, news or rumors?

Well layoffs this week. Boss just called me in, 30 in our building alone. Space was great until its not. Nobody can hear you scream there.
Well, there is still much churn going on. Some programs feel like they are in trouble, others seem to be on the brink of being the next big thing. in MS lots of push to be faster, that I read as being more efficient. So thats my goal, to get my program to be more efficient, deliver on time, and on budget.
So many posts in (not really NG) but others....how they hate the management, etc. Personally I think we have pretty decent management here. I've had much worse. I have a great team, and I tell them that every day, and I push those feelings up the chain so that program and director level know the names of those really preforming and making it happen. Not sure about other sites, but we are looking to hire more.

Was told layoff in next month with severance
Due to reorg and elimination of some titles and creation of others
All mgrs were reqd to reinterview for their own jobs....no effort to place the displaced
@7rp correct. Layoffs will come soon.

@7fm They don't have the funding to actually fund all those job reqs. Some of those openings are unfunded.
@60n I see the program having to split its contract with other primes as a reason for layoffs or RIFS.
BUT WHY 288? How’d that count come about?
@60n Doesn't seem like Sentinel is in trouble, there's still over 200 job open reqs for the program as of today.
Sentinel found 288 heads more than required as per budget. Costs are highly scrutinized for Sentinel. This sounds like a layoff for Sentinel program for all sites.
cant see it happening for my team....product....site. BUSY!!!!
