Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

How much is merger going to sc--w us?

We can safely assume it won’t create more jobs. Probably the opposite. But just how bad is it really going to get?

Why is everyone automatically assuming the worst with this? The merger hasn't even been approved yet and then you have Vena who hasn't got a dam clue of what he's doing anyways! Have you seen how bad the NS is run? Are you aware of how bad the UP is being run? The issues at both railroads aren't going to magically disappear IF the merger gets approved. If anything the problems will get way worse at both places. If you were around in the 90's, then you what I'm talking about. Stop going scorched earth and assuming the worst! THE MERGER HAS TO BE APPROVED FIRST! Do you really think the UP's past issues like the last merger, manpower shortages, network congestion, layoffs, managerial ethics, and equipment management like storing of engines aren't going to be questioned? This merger is not going to be fast tracked through. Right now you have regulators going through past and current issues like DERAILMENTS, which the UP has had alot of and has tried to keep quiet! Rest easy my friends. I really wouldn't worry too much about it until the merger is approved or even if it gets approved. There's going to be conditions set by many people if Vena himself wants this merger approved. It's just a done deal for him.

Anything could happen. The best thing to do is get another job and leave. Protect yourself and your family.
