Treat your job as a lease, not a mortgage nothing is guaranteed. You’re given a space to contribute, and in return, you receive compensation. I’ve been there nearly 30 years, and that’s how I’ve always approached my role. This mindset helps you keep your sanity, and when you’re no longer needed, you can pack up, move on, and find something new and challenging.

Treat it like adult daycare.
Be careful.
30 years? Do you know how to plug in the internet?
Wow, AT&T really took care of your 30 years. We should all be so fortunate.
I had a Senior Director tell our group that once.
@ds completely right. If you’ve been at AT&T for 20 years, you’re probably 10 years past your last significant contribution and you’re just occupying space and bi--hing about how the company is changing for the worse. Move on grandpas and grandmas we don’t want or need your 1987 thinking.
“ It’s a job. It’s not you. If it’s become your identity maybe it’s a you problem”
Simple, it’s a boomer mentality. Back in the day that’s how it was. Those days have long past for almost every company. Those days are done here as well, but we were late to the party. If you are over 65 and still working here, why? Go enjoy what’s left of your life instead of staying at this miserable place. You may not have a “couple more years” to work. Please for the love of God, don’t work here till you drop dead.
Honest question ; aside from supporting a family why is there such an insistence on making one’s occupation their whole life and identity. It’s a means to paying for the life you want and there are many other means to do it so why is working at AT&T such a big deal requiring all these post about it. It’s a job. It’s not you. If it’s become your identity maybe it’s a you problem

Thanks for advice pops. Do you really think anyone will be here 30 years from now!
If you really have 30 years of experience, you can write your own ticket in this record setting economy.
This job equally treated me as a lease providing everyone no location certainty. Now due to the cr-ppy timing and job market, forced to go to Big D

Thanks for the unsolicited advice Peepaw.
