Heard a comment the other day that implied they are tracking people teams activity, green, yellow and red. This person also said if you don’t sign on to teams they have a report for that. Any truth? All these reports I can’t keep track of what they are tracking. We need a weekly tracking report of what they are tracking so we can track ourselves.
Great now I feel like I should go running.

@r2 doubtful
No one with the time to F with any of that S has any idea what my job really entails. Hint, typing and clicking is only a tiny fraction of it.
@a1 asics is more durable
Nah
Teams status and availability is just a start. You think AI is just a fun tool for doing things faster? They are ramping it up to be able to rank ALL activity for ALL employees, by category, time, and so on. Keystroke logger is already available "if needed." Just do your job.
Back when we had Skype, I’d keep my status is on Away all the time. Everyone on my team knew to message me anyway. But it helped limit the number of Hi Lastname Firstname messages from offshore.
you can change your own "status" on teams - busy, dnd, away - whatever you like and it will stay that way for at least a day, sometimes several days, regardless of your calendar/meeting schedule or whether you are actually moving your mouse.
worthless as an indicator of whether someone is actually doing anything or not.
I set mine to "busy" and leave it there.
@dx literally my entire day!
@c7 well, wouldn't that be doing your job. Why so scared and defensive? Something to hide?
Anybody who thinks they are getting fired for being inactive when watching a few hours of develop you videos a month is the id--t in the discussion.
‘Cuz nuthin’ says productive like always being available to chat. There is nothing more distracting than getting routed from your train of thought to address a needy coworker.

For dum--ss folks who says “if you do your work, you don’t have to worry”. You ID--T when I listen to any videos on developyou, my teams shows away. I am right before the computer. Who the heck came up with teams metrics.?
I always feel like somebody's watching me
And I have no privacy (Oh, oh, oh)
I always feel like somebody's watching me
Tell me, is it just a dream?

That'd be d-mb because Teams su-ks and consistently stays yellow when I'm actively doing stuff on my PC.
@ac Teams will show you as away even if you're logged in and doing email or in a browser.
If you're doing your job, you shouldn't have to worry about it.
I'm starting to think that tye people asking about this stuff are those that aren't doing much and are afraid of being discovered.
Just like RTO.
If youre working you should usually be available in teams. As long as you aren't one of the sc-mbags who come to work then immediately head to the gym, or take multiple meal breaks a day you'll probably be fine.
I'm quite confident they can track your status in teams. How much reporting they do is another story. They are also supposedly tracking activity-- emails, app usage, meetings in teams, etc.
Why u care? Just give them 8 hours (legally 7.5 hours) they want, and done with that day.
Implied comment huh? So now it’s an inferred rumor
There's nothing in my job description that says I have to communicate via teams. I do, but if they want to get people in trouble over it they are going to need to point to a policy and tell us why the directive from the CEO that in person comm is more important is being ignored. Sounds like a them problem.
They aren’t tracking as much as you think
Hoka or Asics?
