Thread regarding Nielsen layoffs

Overworked, underpaid, understaffed, please no more layoffs.

I'm a FR in the West. We've seen our field and MR numbers go way down, and our home count go up. Nanos are starting to have these issues, scheds going on withthold, flags, PRS putting things on WH and not setting appointments, digital interims putting homes on withhold, and yet we still have the same performance expectation and policies.

There was a guy on the U.S. townhall that was retiring and called out management. I know they weren't happy inside and even though he was the only brave person to speak up, nothing will change. I've been looking for a new job for a year and it's been really difficult. 15 years ago we had AP. It was a pain in the butt, however at least the expectations and home count ratio were more acceptable.

If we go through another round of field layoffs, it's going to absolutely tank our performances. But so many of field guys refuse to unionize, so leadership can keep taking advantage of us and giving us more and more homes, with less field reps, and the same pay.

Like others have said, what was said in the meeting and what was their initials? I was laid off a few months ago as a PRS and I know of a few fantastic guys that were waiting until retirement to really let it rip in a townhall lol

I would love to know the first name and last initial or initials of who spoke up. Gone a year but most likely knew him.

The FR that stood up on the meeting, was NOT retiring. He was quitting. He found another position outside of Nielsen. Lucky Guy

@er I'm curious what your position is, or if you even work at Nielsen. Go ahead and be brave and tell us what your position is. Otherwise you're a coward hiding behind your words on the internet as a worthless troll.

Typical FR entitlement. Cry babies.

WH= Withhold which means they are no longer counting viewing data for that particular home and their ratings don’t count

AP=Active Passive which was a type of meter used several years ago to collect viewing data from TVs and peripheral devices.

I worked many years in the nyc corporate office, even back in the days when leadership actually appreciated folks in the field...but let's not get it mixed up...even then they gave very little care or notice to field vs. just about every other part of the company, especially client facing execs. I spent 17 yrs with the company and never met a field rep.

@OP former FR from the Midwest here. When I left things were getting rocky with the rollout of SMP and the layoffs of MRs, FRs and PRs. Expectations were becoming unrealistic and bonuses, to my understanding were going to be primarily based on install success rates instead of performance. I left a year ago and can’t imagine the stress and frustration you all must be feeling. Quality has to be suffering, the company’s future success is in jeopardy.

Nielsen CEO and board of directors don't care about you.

They care about one thing.....minimizing payroll and expenses....

So that they can afford to pay themselves millions!

The layoffs will continue!!
