@p4 I think anyone with two brain cells understands the benefits of innovation, the point is that our “innovation lab” is not delivering it and won’t be around for long.

Real innovation is not allowed by employees. Those projects are earmarked for Consulting groups and their big contracts.
Trust of employees who work on areas daily and know what is needed to make things better...well, that is not allowed or would interfere with the executive gravy train.
Lol innovation? What have we innovated other than ways to increase a premiums and raise compensation for top executives? That innovation lab hasn't added any value to the company. I feel that the entire department was just a way to get some cronie friends of the CEO a high paying job without adding any real value.
