Is that true?

@af I don't think the motivation is to leave the company. I think the results the management will achieve is less productivity from the 4 day in office workforce. During the days I am in the office, I am interrupted so much I cannot get as much work done. So they want us in the office, then they get less work completed.
Our “partner” organization is in the office in India 4 days. Some of them 5 days. One complained they don’t get money for home office ergo equipment so they come in anyway and get the free lunch. But they are also told the have to be in town, they can’t work from home from somewhere else. HR policy is strict in that way.
Manila only need to be in office 2 days a week or less
@dt No it's not, it's 4.
Manila averages about 9 public holidays a month so why bother using the office? When they ask why you send our jobs to India too? The answer will be, public holidays.
@dt not from 2026
@dt 4 days from January . Apparently we "Team" with India better in the office
Australia is 3x days in office
Do those countries have an entrenched class of Boomers running things like the USA does? Nope! That's why they have work flexibility and we don't. Someone born in 1960, like MW, that was never going to get on board with new ways of doing things he didn't experience prior to getting his AARP card in the mail.
Managment know where the future lays....and it's not in the entitled overpaid American graduates of Texas A&M, Rice, LSU or other so called American universities.
Why would they take away work from home from the employees they are trying to develop and incentivize. Besides gotta be in the office 4 days in Houston to collaborate on teams calls with people in those locations in their pajamas. Don’t forget you can also work on your 2hr plus bus commute and then take those Manila calls when your home at night.
BA is 2 days since we are not so expensive jaja
Makes sense as they want the overseas workers to stay. Houston offices are going to be packed like cattle starting in January. Making life uncomfortable will be a motivator to leave before the next layoffs.
Manila is only 2 days per week in office.
