Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

TFB Destruction

Follow up from my post yesterday. Today my team was destroyed, as were many.

Years of building, growth, and success right down the drain. Top performing reps sent to unemployment right before Christmas. Meanwhile, mo--ns and failures keep their jobs. It's not about layoffs, it's about making horrible decisions and then executing poorly on those decisions.

This company has become an utter disappointment. We immediately bankrupted our culture, integrity, and brand as soon as we win the war. T-Mobile is showing their true colors, and it's as disgusting as it is disappointing.

@aj if ur territory has only 10 - 25+ employee accounts and 300 micro biz in… areas lets just say are living worse than anyone I know.. what kind of deals were you expecting 😂 going ON FOOT to back alley shacks is crazy. Waste of time. Might as well join telesales. Micro AE’s are gonna drive around like the ice cream man slinging BI’s from the back of their cars hahahaha #cooked

@an
They don’t care one bit about performance, they just needed to hit their number
If we’re talkin’ real, the Michigan TFB senior leadership (senior Managers and directors) is where the mess starts. Those toxic senior managers been wreckin’ culture, runnin’ folks off, and actin’ like they know the business when they don’t even understand what we sell. And somehow they’re still sittin’ pretty while top-notch reps get tossed out before Christmas?
That ain’t layoffs, that’s a leadership disaster.
If T-Mobile really wanted to fix anything, they’d start by cleanin’ house at the top. Michigan TFB’s senior leaders been draggin’ that whole market down for years, and everybody knows it.
Cut them, not the people who actually keep the company runnin

@a6 Nobody cares about SMB, you are basically Consumer. In fact at many of our competitors you count as a Consumer customer. What innovative ideas have ever come from SMB?

We really aren’t the Un-carrier anymore — we’re the Carrier now. This TFB layoff was brutal. I lost my manager and my whole team this week, and the survivor’s guilt is already setting in. Just a couple of weeks before Christmas, too. I understand the business side of these decisions, but how tasteful was it to send out an email congratulating all the promotions happening at the higher levels while so many of our peers, mentors, and long-invested coworkers were being laid off? T-Mobile, the timing was not on your side this time, it was a horrible look.

  • May the odds be ever in your favor.

@a9 you are correct.30% RIF for 2026 to be announced soon. It will be a rolling RIF with frontline taking the brunt of it. It will align with T-Life expansion.

@aa well if majority of your sales in the SMB space were micro deals and you made the cut you got placed on the micro business side. So that falls on your funnel history of the size accounts you have closed. Be glad you still have a job. 😒

It's suprising that TFB distruction didn't happen years ago. We should cut TFB, Prepaid, Product (no innovation), and 95% of Accounting (AI) and Finance (AI). In addition, we should fire the entite C-Suite that was here with John Legere. When was the last UC move that mattered? The old guard in both the C-Suite and at DT, are the worst of the past. They know that we are toast, especially in TFB, as technology in other adjacent sectors improves. What is even worse, is that so many of you are buying the AI BS! T-Mobile is not an AI innovator, they pay money for AI. Look at the real AI companies...they eat and pi-s in the same spot. The don't just eat sh-t.

Definitely the right foot was put in the left shoe on this one. Putting seasoned sellers in a micro organization and new sellers in the SMB roles. No idea how they came up with these decisions but it will definitely make for a negative impact long term.

Top 3 SMB team in country 4 years in a ROW. Dismantled. I absolutely understand the need to reorg, but they definitely should’ve looked at a different criteria.

Sprint bought T-Mobile with house money. Only a matter of time before the bozos that came over destroy this company too.
