It is very frustrating to see job postings with the same title that were laid off in October. Why would I apply for this role, will it be offshored soon too? Thinking I will just take my severance and move on. I don’t want to get a new position in Cargill only to go through this again….

@12a what department? It is so frustrating!
My entire team was RIFd, now im being asked how many people I need to hire. Go figure!
And the irony of blasting linkedin abt their investments in housing to show they are ppl centered. Not fooling anyone.
There may be case law on this depending on the reason for the severance. A previous company i worked for had a very strict rule about 6 months and I was told it was for legal reasons.
@b1 ; absolutely!! Just like any other corporation.
Also further reinforces that ageism is real and widespread; Cargill did a nice CYA job with their attorneys so they don’t get sued for this travesty.
Stock just went up this quarter so everyone in leadership and family must be happy…… after they impacted thousands of employees.
@b1 why do things "the right way" when you can find legal loopholes?? Come on, the family has more vacation homes and McLarens to purchase!
I thought legally they cant rehire a position that they eliminated by claiming the position went away when they laid someone off?
Oh right, Cargill always finds the loophole in ethical or legal standards.
