Have any VRP been offered yet ? The last offers were last November almost exactly 1 year ago. In a few weeks they will be on the hook for lots of new 9 % ACH contributions they will have to make every paycheck after the pension plans stop accruing. It would be nice if they could try to use the VRP to reduce the number of people they need to force out of a job and reduce the burden on themselves too.

VRP was not on the table today.
No VRP offered on this round as, IMO, the nature of the 'structural changes' being worked out through the Elliot discussions mean that corporate has to be a bit more precise in the trimming. As far as ARC, even for those who qualify for a 9% ARC contribution, it is still 50% or more less than the pension accruals for the same qualified individual.
