How did we get the worst CIO in not only out industry, but in the country? A used car salesman would do a better job. At least he might have a shot at convincing us of the lies being told. He must have wrecked GM IT. He makes BB look like a super hero.

We hate IT
@jr I worked in IT and this my sense too. Customers and internal stakeholders would actively avoid working with us, and with good reason.
IT was more concerned with being their own customer than actually being a useful partner. It’s no wonder teams would go to outside departments rather than use our own IT teams.
@jr I 100% agree with you.
But at the same time, “the business” should also hold a mirror up to themselves and think about how good are we at doing procurement, operations, earth science, reservoir management, CAPITAL PROJECTS…
Our corporate IT department stinks, but let’s not pretend like these other groups are top notch either.
@OP I am convinced you are the only person that makes these LC CIO posts. Why don’t you hop over to XOM Careers and find something that will bring you real joy in life. Or buy a puppy or something. Chill out bro.
@ef friend, I hate to break it to you, but those of us in the business do everything we can to avoid interacting with IT or any group with the word “digital” in their title. That is a one-way ticket to project delays, hours of meaningless calls, or emails that get forwarded so many times that they get sent back around to me full-circle.
He probably bribed Trump.
@a9 you may think IT does not matter, but try to do your job without IT and you will be slowed down more than you already are with IT support.
LC was hired to outsource the work to India and then he will be terminated. He is the fall guy for MW.
He only got his job because the head of Talent Acquisition (RD) is a former University of Arkansas guy.
When did Chevron become a tech support company
The CIO doesn’t matter. I’m sorry that thousands of people work in his organization because that’s how many people also do not matter.
