Here are some rough numbers pulled from the WARN Tracker website. This shows the number of rounds of layoff occurrences for each year. For example, employees were laid off during 24 instances of layoffs in 2025. Sobering numbers to say the least!:

I thought W.A.R.N. was a state-issued report, not federal, so I asked my good friend AI about it...
"It is not possible to find a single, centralized federal database of all WARN notices, since employers are only required to notify the state and/or local government, not the federal government."
See your point But..WARN notice numbers for WF under reported. Company also displaces smaller numbers of people -under 50 people- to get around WARN reporting triggers. Many more people have been displaced outside of WARN system.
That is just people who got the golden ticket. It doesnt show the people forced to quit, who left after finding work or who were set up to be fired by stack ranking and witch hunts.
Will be higher in 2026.
The number will probably go down a bit for 2026, but there will also be a massive push to term for cause and essentially unload the same number of employees but without severance. 10-15k every year until we're all gone.
