They are talking about AI. But most people will be interested in layoffs.
Layoff is driven by AI + offshoring.

How do risk bonuses compare to other divisions?
My favorite part is where he basically said that AI did his work for him and he was so smug and proud about it. Why do we need him then? Cost savings idea!!!??
@ae The Global Ops Q4 town hall was all about career progression and the possibilities at WF. Not sure what fantasy world they’re living in. At this point the only way I may get another promotion is if my boss leaves or if I move halfway across the country to another location which will never happen.
It’s so great to hear all the executives talking about ‘tinkering’ with AI. There is so much tinkering going on!
@c7 yes, if you are sick use PTO. plenty of times I have been knocked on my back side by an illness and took PTO, but if I have a slight runny nose or annoying cough and am still able to produce at 100% then I'd prefer to work from home, if not for the company than for my own sanity so I'm not buried in work the next day. managers have discretion to approve short term exceptions and if there is a week where I might miss especially now that some of us are going to 4 days, I'll send my manager an email asking for an exception. I have a cool manager and they will approve it, I then keep that email in case anyone comes calling. managers can even approve for upwards of a month, thru just have to submit something in work day.
@OP
I asked AI if the differential between my bonus and F-over is justified. Copilot said we should rebalance the bonus pool in my favor. Where can I submit my use case?
@a3 AI is going to replace resources in India.
@aw
If you’re sick, use PTO. Most companies give you vacation time and sick time. Jesus Wells is very generous with time off, use a freaking day or two if you are sick!
@OP, you say "Layoff is driven by AI + offshoring". Is AI that advanced at Wells Fargo to have it justified for laying off people? I only listen to people on this board... and from what I have seen AI is a ball that everyone passes around (TK to SVB and maybe BE?). I would say that "Layoff is driven by H1b + offshoring". Others come in and correct me.
DF just comes off as a angry old man. It's not that we don't read your feedback, we just don't take it into consideration and do what I want.
Mr. F-over is too busy planning winter vacation to Alps. You can stress all you want but it won’t get you much.
Was the corp risk town hall today? I didn't find a link to it. The RTO for 4 days a week in office was pushed back to March 30th?
@aw guidance is on Teamworks under "Our Workplace". your manager has flexibility to grant short terms exceptions. if they are unwilling then you have a bad manager.
how do they define engagement? is it based on how many of us took the survey?
I also loved how he said of course stay home if you’re sick. I tried to inform my manager I was sick and they told me to make sure to make up the time so the averages stay compliant! What if you are sick for a week! And when we go to 4 days we won’t really have time to make it up! And no official guidance on anything so people keep coming to the office sick. Over it.
I love that they saw low engagement scores and thought it's because people weren't in the office enough (aka "great, now I have an excuse I can use to justify my preconceived biases of what work is supposed to look like"), and not because there's a lack of direction and actual leadership beyond trying to jam AI everywhere with no regard for if it's the right tool for the job, and no communication or honesty around the layoff and offshoring strategy
Some teams in corp risk are run by people who want to look good to their leaders so they make us go back 6 mos early.
@ah
Ok, he said March 30th, 2026!
@ah March 30
He is mostly excited about laying us off to juice his bonus payout
So, a firm that can't manage its business with people is going to use artificial intelligence to the detriment of both clients and employees. Fix the people and reputation issues before diving in to new technology. These people are insufferably stupid
Can someone please explain the grocery analogy to me? Wtf
Need to rip them whenever the next survey comes out.
Nope DF - you are not listening to anything other than your ego and bonus
So did you all hear the 4 days RTO starts March 3rd now?
This guy is a dinosaur! People are more positive in the office??!! Get real. This is such out of touch bs.
Thank you for all your sacrifice and dedication. Now get in here 4 days a week to sit in an office that has no one on your team there.
Seriously- first he says they are laying us off and the follow up question is how employees can succeed?????? WTF is this??????
DF thinks our role is to sacrifice our jobs; financial security; and family for his bonus and Scharts pay raise
What is wrong with this guy?
@a6 cost of offshoring - low qualify labor
even though they extended this town all to 90 minutes. what do you bet there will be little time left for questions?
@a7 yes, ITV will see a big wave of layoffs after that
AI coverup for sending more job to India
Did she just say our goal is to get CDAs completed for every control by the end of Q1 2026?
They can’t even get the audio to work.
At least they should be honest about the layoff plan due to AI
@a1
Its the latest FAD, that latest bandwagon to jump on. Rah Rah Rah! AI! Lets go!!
I'd think an actual strategy - communicated to the employees, with buy-in, and agreement by all that is the right direction, would be a more profitable way to go.
But hey, what do I know, I'm in mommy's basement on a chat board....
This town hall is AI Slop.
Every single leadership forum is AI focused. They never discuss anything related to topics employees care about. Layoffs, RTO policies , working in a surveillance state etc
